I’ll be smart without trying and I
just get more annoyed when that
doesn’t work out.”
– SHEALYN
GYGER, SOPHOMORE
Funny people scare the
pants off of me. I normally
strive to make people laugh, but
when I meet someone even more
comedic than me, my train of
thought goes out the window. I
feel anxious, like I need to impress
them. That’s not how comedy
thrives, that’s how it dies.”
BENJAMIN KORF, SENIOR
I am currently extremely
stressed because I have
more work than I can handle. I
feel I have to make the choice to
abandon my grades, my social life,
my family, or the idea of getting
a healthy amount of sleep. Also I
suck at saving money. I hate this,
and I am struggling immensely.”
LAUREN KELLY, SOPHOMORE
I get stressed when nothing
goes the way I want. If I fail
or do a poor job at something,
then I’m sad and worried. When
I get stressed, I listen to music to
calm me down. Or I’ll drive around
and listen to loud music, which
helps a lot. Sometimes I’ll watch
an episode of a funny sitcom. I
also like to journal, which helps
me express my emotions. I feel
much better afterwards.”
– SARAH
KHARRAZI, JUNIOR
I get stressed when I have
to make decisions because I
am the least decisive person ever.
What if I make the wrong choice?
How am I supposed to make big
life decisions when I can’t even
decide what kind of coffee I
want from Starbucks?
– MICAELA
MCCARTHY, SOPHOMORE
When I spend an hour
cleaning my room and then
mess it up again five minutes after
cleaning it. It also stresses me out
when something isn’t in the right
place. I can’t do anything without
putting it back in place first.”
SHAYDA MOHAJERI, SOPHOMORE
I get stressed making eye
contact in the hallway
with people I’m (kind
of) friends with. What
am I supposed to do,
yell hello and have them
ignore me? Give a lame
wave? Intensely stare at them? I
just can’t do it.”
– ADIE RANDALL,
SOPHOMORE
My main cause of stress
would probably be
schoolwork and moving to a
completely different state or
going to a brand new school. I
don’t really have a way of solving
these issues, but for the time
being, I’m going to just watch
Netflix and slowly make friends.”
